Biography

Vuyisani, well-known as Mr Vee Sholo, is a driven and versatile musician with a longstanding commitment to his craft. He embarked on his music journey in 2003 as a backing vocalist and studio sessionist. Today, he stands as an independent artist under his own record label, Veectory Music Production. Mr Vee Sholo’s music is widely recognized, with his projects being featured on commercial, SABC, and local radio stations, as well as across all major digital streaming platforms.

His dedication and hard work led to a breakthrough when he was nominated for the Victory Gospel Music Awards and the Independent National Gospel Music Awards (INGOMA) in the categories of Best Male Artist and Best Collaboration. In 2012, he released his debut album, Rejoice in the Lord, followed by his second album, Uyesu Uyabuya, in 2016, which featured collaborations with prominent artists Butho Vuthela and Betusile Mcinga. In February 2022, he ventured into a new musical territory with his first IGWIJO album, Ngamamenemene, and has since released six additional projects, including his latest work, Abantu Bam.

Mr Vee Sholo has captivated audiences across South Africa with performances of his beloved hits, Akalali, Ngamamenemene, and Abantu Bam. His dynamic stage presence has seen him share the spotlight with renowned artists such as DJ Tira, Dumza Maswana, DJ Sox, and Dlala Mshunqisi. Expanding his musical reach, he collaborated with UK-based artist Linric Toto on one of his recent albums.

2024 was a groundbreaking year for Mr Vee Sholo. His hit song was nominated for Song of the Year on Umhlobo Wenene FM, where he secured an impressive third place with over 45,000 votes. That same year, he won two prestigious SATMA Awards—one for Best IsiXhosa Artist and the other for Song of the Year, solidifying his status as one of the leading voices in South African music.

Beyond his music career, Mr Vee Sholo holds a BSc in Audiology (Honours) from the University of Cape Town and is currently pursuing a BA in Music at the University of Fort Hare. He is also an accomplished author, having penned the book 10 Money Mistakes I Made That You Must Avoid.

As a token of appreciation for the support he has received throughout his career, Mr Vee Sholo has embarked on a mission to uplift young and upcoming artists. Using his own resources, including his recording studio, he is actively mentoring and developing the next generation of musicians, ensuring that his success paves the way for others.
